Webinar Questions & Answers

The workshop is in “Eastern US time?” What time is that in my country/ city?

Eastern US time is New York time.

You can use this time zone converter to check the local time where you are.

What if I can't attend the workshop live, but I don’t want to miss it?!

If you can't attend live, don't worry! Just register for the webinar (if you haven’t already!) and you'll get access to the recordings (for a limited time). You need to register to receive access to the replays, so make sure you sign up.

How do I get access to the recording?

If you have registered for the webinar, you will automatically receive an email with a link to the recording page after the webinar has aired live.

You may receive the email later that day or the next morning. Just keep an eye on your inbox! There is no need to email me to ask for the link.

What if I don’t have time to watch the recording before it expires?

I know that teachers are busy people. That being said, these free webinars are intended to be live events - not ongoing courses. I’m happy to provide short-term access to the recordings for anyone who wants to review or can’t come live. But after that period, the special offers mentioned in the workshops are no longer active, and I need to make way for the next upcoming events at TEFL Horizons.

If you want unlimited access to the replays, join the TEFL Horizons membership. Members get on-demand access to ALL past webinar recordings.

How long is the webinar?

Most of my live webinars last about 90 minutes, which includes a Q&A session at the end. The workshop may run a bit shorter or longer depending on how many questions are asked.

How much do the webinars cost?

As always, the live webinar workshops are free

I’ve never taught before, or I’m a brand new teacher. Will I still find these workshops helpful?

Yes! If you’re interested in teaching English, you’ll learn a LOT of helpful tips and methodology.

What can I expect from these webinars? Are they interactive? Will I be on camera? Can I ask questions?

You can expect practical online teaching advice that you can start implementing in your own teaching right away.

You will not be on camera - so no need to dress up! You’ll see me on camera and you’ll be able to interact with me and the other webinar participants using the chat feature on Zoom.

You can ask questions at any time using the Q&A feature. Depending on your question, I will either answer it in the moment or during the Q&A session at the end of the workshop.

Who are you?

Will I have access to the recordings forever? Can I watch them whenever I want?

If you register for this webinar, you will have access to the recording from the time it is posted until 11:59pm Eastern time on Monday, November 18th.

You can watch the recordings whenever you want, as many times as you want, during that time period.

After webinar replays expire, the recordings will no longer be available to anyone other than TEFL Horizons members.

(for webinar series) I'm only interested in attending one of the workshops - not both of them.

That's ok! Register for the series and then only attend the workshop that interests you. You’ll receive access to both the recordings, so you can always watch the other workshop later if you change your mind.

Do you offer certificates of participation for the webinars?

Yes, if you attend a webinar live (or watch the recording), you can download a certificate of participation afterwards. The certificate download button will be right below the video of the workshop on the recordings page. You do not need to email me to get your certificate.

Will the certificate have my name on it?

No. Due to the volume of participants who register for the webinars, I am not able to offer personalized certificates. Thank you for understanding!

I have a lot of teaching experience already. Will these workshops still be useful for me?

Yes! As teachers, we’re never “perfect” - there’s always more to learn! Even if some of what we cover in these workshops is a review for you, you’re likely to walk away with a new perspective or some new ideas. Personally, every time I attend a professional development event, I feel refreshed and reinvigorated in my approach to teaching. And why miss out on a free opportunity to connect with other motivated professionals in your field?

I teach in person, not online. Will I still get anything out of these workshops or are they only about online teaching?

Join us! The strategies and tips I’ll show you in the webinars are geared towards online teaching, but it will be easy to see how to apply them to in-person teaching, too. You’ll be able to try out the techniques in your physical classroom and see how well they work!
