Level: Upper-Intermediate to Advanced

Lesson length: 60 minutes

Summary: This is a jigsaw reading lesson with plenty of engaging, interactive speaking as well. Each of the two texts is a post from the popular Humans of New York Instagram account. Students will work in pairs (A and B), with each student reading one of the posts (for both gist and detail). They will then retell the story they read to their partner. Finally, students will share their own stories of an important or influential person in their lives.
