How to Teach ESL Lessons that Actually Work

Learn what to focus on in your lessons so you can stop piecing together random activities and start teaching with more clarity, structure, and confidence.

This is a pre-recorded video training session. Watch on-demand, on your own schedule.

When you’re planning or teaching, do you ever think…?

What should I teach today? I’m not sure where to start.

There’s a LOT of material to cover. How do I know what to include — and what to skip?

Am I just supposed to just go straight down the course book page, or what?

How do I know if my students are actually learning anything?

I’m doing a lot, but my students are just kind of… there. Am I doing this right?

If you’ve been piecing together activities, explanations, and materials and then just ~hoping~ your lessons work… this training is for you.

In this Free Training, You’ll Learn…

🎯 The ONE thing every successful lesson needs and how that one decision can make planning much simpler.

🗺️ Why different lessons require different structures — and what happens when you try to teach every type of lesson the same way.

💬 How to motivate students and maximize engagement so your learners are getting more out of the lessons.

🙋🏽‍♀️ A simple fix to make your lessons more student-centered right away, even if you’re still relatively new to teaching.

IMagine sitting down to plan your next lesson, and…

…instead of asking, “Where should I start?” You have a clear and easy planning process.

…building in techniques that get your students genuinely motivated and involved.

…knowing how to evaluate the course book material and decide what to teach and why.

…feeling confident the lesson will be focused, cohesive, and meaningful for your students.

Meet Your Trainer

Hey! I’m Shannon.

I’ve been teaching English for around 20 years and training ESL teachers for many of those years, including as a CELTA trainer.

And one of my core beliefs is that teacher training needs to be actionable and practical.

It’s helpful to understand teaching theory — but what most teachers really want to know is:

“What’s going to help me in this lesson I’m teaching tomorrow?

That’s exactly what this training is designed to help you answer.
