CELTA is a pass/fail course, and you must meet a long list of criteria to pass.
You’ll be expected to demonstrate strong teaching skills- including classroom management, an ability to analyze language, and independent lesson planning.
You’ll also have to pass four written assignments in addition to succeeding in teaching practice.
CELTA can be stressful and demanding. Candidates often quit the course because they’re overwhelmed and underprepared.

I’ve been training on CELTA courses for eight years, so I know firsthand that the course is tough! I’ve seen all the meltdowns, teaching disasters, and CELTA mistakes you can imagine. And I also know exactly how to get that elusive Pass-A grade.
I created CELTA Prep Bootcamp to get you in the best possible shape for your CELTA course. I’ll teach you the strategies you need for planning and delivering successful lessons, breezing through your assignments, and impressing your CELTA tutors and students.

Session 1: CELTA Teaching Fundamentals
You’ll learn the #1 thing your tutors are looking for when they assess your lessons, tips for managing an online or in-person classroom, and essential CELTA teaching methodology.
Session 2: Lesson Planning
We’ll go step-by-step through the anatomy of a CELTA lesson plan. I’ll also show you how to avoid common planning mistakes, how to choose appropriate lesson aims, and how to save time and take the stress out of the planning process.
Session 3: Assignments
We’ll look at the four big CELTA assignments and how to pass them. You’ll get to analyze examples of pass/fail assignments and learn what to do if you have to resubmit.
Session 4: Mentality & Tips for Success
You’ll get essential insight into the official CELTA criteria and what that means for your grade, plus learn exactly how your attitude, experience, and motivation come into play. I’ll share my best tips for getting the highest possible grade on the course as well as further resources and where to go from here.

When is the workshop?

I’m in a different time zone. Can I still attend? How do I know when to sign on?
You can use the time zone converter here to check the local time in your city. Choose “Add a city or timezone” and put in New York, 11am. Then choose “Add another city or time zone” and put in your city to see the converted time.
I want to join, but I can’t come live! Will there be a recording?
Yes! The workshop will be recorded. If you can’t join me live, you can still enroll in the workshop and I will send you the full recorded session about an hour after the live workshop ends. The recording will be available for one week after the live workshop ends, so make sure you watch it before then!
Will I need to be on camera in the workshop?
That’s up to you! You’re welcome to turn on your camera if you’d like, or you can leave it off if you’d prefer.
Does the workshop include breaks?
There will be a 15-minute break in the middle of the workshop. Since the workshop is virtual, you are also welcome to get up and stretch, grab some coffee, take a bathroom break, etc at any time! You can always check the recording to review anything you missed.
What if I can’t stay for the whole workshop?
That’s ok! I’ll send you the recording of the workshop so you can watch or review anything you missed. Join live for as much as you can and then watch the recording of what you missed. Just remember to watch the recording before it expires one week after the live workshop!
Can I get a refund if I sign up and then can’t attend?
No - since this is a virtual course, there isn’t an option for a refund. If you have tech issues or an unexpected scheduling conflict that prevents you from attending live, you can still watch the recorded session and get all the benefits of the workshop.
Will there be another CELTA Prep Bootcamp session in the future?
Yes. However, since this is the very first session, I’m offering it at a special price of $52 USD. The enrollment fee will most likely be higher for future sessions.
Is this a CELTA course? Will I receive a CELTA certificate at the end of it?
No. This is not the official CELTA course offered by Cambridge. This is a CELTA preparation course. In order to get a CELTA certificate, you need to enroll in and pass an official CELTA course.
Do I get any kind of certificate for taking this preparation course?
No. The value of this course is in the information and strategies you’ll learn - not in a certificate. When you take your CELTA course, your tutors will not be interested in whether you have a piece of paper that shows you took a preparation course. They will only be interested in your teaching skills and whether you are able to pass your assignments and lessons. It won’t matter if you have official “proof” of taking CELTA Prep Bootcamp, but what WILL matter is that you’ll be leaps and bounds ahead of the average candidate because of everything you learned in the workshop!
Does taking this workshop guarantee that I will pass my CELTA?
While workshop will greatly help you in passing your CELTA, there is no absolute guarantee. Whether you pass the CELTA course is ultimately up to you! Whether you pass the course ultimately comes down to having the resources you need, sufficient preparation, and your own motivation and hard work.

I’ll tell you what my favorite CELTA resources are in the workshop and also recommend next steps if you’re looking for additional preparation. There will also be a Q&A session at the end of the live workshop so you can ask me any additional questions you have.
